Privacy Policy

Your data, in plain English

This page explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and what rights you have over it. Last updated 28 August 2026.

Who we are

This website is operated by Safetay Electrical Testing.

We're a small business, so we don't have a dedicated data protection officer. If you have any question about your data or this policy, the email address above goes straight to the person who handles it.

What data we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us. If you use the Get a Quote form, that can include:

  • Your name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Business or property name (optional)
  • Roughly how many appliances need testing
  • Whatever details you write in the message box

We don't take payment details through this website, and we don't use analytics or advertising/tracking scripts. If you just browse the site without submitting the form, we don't collect anything about you at all beyond the standard access logs any web host keeps (see "Hosting" below).

How the enquiry form actually works

The Get a Quote form is sent using a third-party form service, FormSubmit, which delivers your submission straight to our email inbox. FormSubmit processes the data on our behalf purely to relay it to us; we don't use it for anything else, and it isn't added to a mailing list or CRM.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use the information you send us to respond to your enquiry, provide a quote, and arrange PAT/EET testing if you go ahead. Under UK GDPR, our lawful basis for this is:

  • Your consent — you choose to fill in and send the form.
  • Taking steps towards a contract — handling a quote request you've asked for, ahead of any booking.

We don't use your details for marketing, and we don't add you to any mailing list.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own use. The only outside parties involved at all are the services that host the site and deliver the enquiry form to us:

  • Hosting: this website is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.). Cloudflare serves the site's files and, like any web host, keeps standard server access logs (such as IP addresses of visitors). We don't have a way to link that to who you are.
  • Form processing: the Get a Quote form is submitted through FormSubmit, which receives what you type into the form and emails it straight to us. FormSubmit acts as a data processor for this one purpose and may briefly retain a copy of submissions in its own system as part of providing that service — see FormSubmit's privacy policy for details.

We don't use any analytics, advertising, CRM, or email marketing tools on this site.

International transfers

Cloudflare's hosting infrastructure, and FormSubmit's servers, may be located outside the UK and European Economic Area (EEA), for example in the United States. Where either of them processes data as part of providing their service to us (such as server logs, or relaying a form submission), it does so under its own standard contractual safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry and any testing work that follows from it, and delete them once they're no longer needed. FormSubmit also retains a copy of submissions in its dashboard for a period under its own policy. If you'd like us to delete an enquiry sooner, just ask using the contact details above.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal data we hold about you
  • Correct anything that's inaccurate
  • Delete your data
  • Restrict or object to how we use it

To exercise any of these, email info@safetaypattesting.co.uk. If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies

This website doesn't use cookies or any similar tracking technology. Submitting the Get a Quote form sends your details to FormSubmit's servers so they can email us (see "Who we share it with" above), but doesn't set any cookies in your browser.

Changes to this policy

If we ever start using cookies, analytics, or any other tool that changes what data we collect, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
